Family Photos in Downtown Chelan | Riverwalk Park & Campbell’s Beach

There’s something really special about photographing families in places that already hold part of their story. This Lake Chelan family session was especially meaningful because it centered around a tradition they’ve been keeping for 11 years— a yearly selfie portrait outside the flower pots at The Landing on Woodin Ave in downtown Chelan. This year was the first time they recreated it with their sweet baby girl, Lily, and I loved getting to document that moment for them.

We started downtown at their tradition spot before wandering through Riverwalk Park and letting the session unfold naturally. It was a bright afternoon session instead of soft golden hour light, but honestly, I loved the energy it brought, playful, real, and full of movement. Lily was taking everything in, and there were so many sweet little in-between moments as we walked through downtown Chelan together.

We finished the session at Campbell’s Beach with the lake in the background and that classic summertime Chelan feeling starting to settle in.

These are always my favorite kinds of sessions, relaxed, meaningful, and centered more around connection than perfect posing. As a Chelan family photographer, I love helping families preserve the places, traditions, and little seasons of life that end up meaning the most years later.
