How a Content Refresh Session Can Make Marketing Easier | Wenatchee Real Estate Branding Session
As a business owner, you're constantly being told to show up online.
Post on Instagram. Send the email. Update your website. Share what you're working on.
Most of us get that marketing matters... The harder part is finding the time, energy, and content to actually do it.
That's one of the reasons I love branding photography.
A strong branding session isn't just about creating beautiful images. It's about giving you a collection of photos that make it easier to show up consistently in your business.
Last fall, I worked with Wenatchee realtor Christine Douglas on a Signature Branding Session designed to capture the many facets of her business and personality. We created a content library of images she could use across social media, marketing materials, her website, and client communication.
Six months later, we met again for a content refresh session at a beautiful home in Chelan.
Looking through both galleries side by side is a great reminder that branding photography isn't a one-time event. It's a tool that can continue supporting your business as it grows.
Building a Brand That Feels Personal
One of the things I love most about Christine's brand is that it feels unmistakably her.
When we started planning her original branding session, we weren't simply creating realtor headshots. We wanted to tell a bigger story about who she is and what it's like to work with her.
If you've spent any time around Christine, you've probably noticed her bright, colorful sneakers. They're part of her signature style. We also incorporated movement and outdoor imagery to reflect her active lifestyle and commitment to health and wellness.
Those details matter.
The strongest branding photos usually aren't built around a generic idea of what a professional should look like. They're built around the things that make someone memorable, approachable, and authentic.
For Christine, that meant creating images that felt polished and professional while still reflecting the person her clients know in real life.
Creating a Content Library That Actually Gets Used
One of the biggest goals of Christine's Signature Session was variety.
Together, we mapped out several different brand stories before the shoot, including lifestyle imagery, behind-the-scenes moments, coffee shop content, downtown Wenatchee scenes, and elevated home imagery that reflected the experience she creates for her clients.
Instead of ending up with 50 versions of the same photo, she walked away with a gallery she could use across social media, marketing materials, her website, email newsletters, and more.
This is one of the biggest advantages of strategic branding photography. Rather than wondering what to post each week, you have a library of images that support different stories, different seasons, and different parts of your business.
Six Months Later
By spring, Christine already had a strong collection of branding images.
What she wanted was fresh content.
We planned a shorter content refresh session at a beautiful Chelan property and focused on creating updated imagery she could immediately begin using in her marketing.
The goal wasn't to replace everything from the original session. The foundation was already there.
Instead, we added new images, new environments, and new content that reflected where her business is today.
One of my favorite things about these newer images is how naturally they fit alongside the original gallery. They feel connected while still bringing something new to the table.
Why Fresh Content Matters
One question I hear fairly often is:
"How often should I update my branding photos?"
The answer depends on your business, your marketing goals, and how often you're using your content.
For some businesses, a full branding session every few years may be enough.
For others, especially those who rely heavily on social media, email marketing, or personal branding, having fresh content throughout the year can make a huge difference.
A content refresh session can be a great fit if:
• You're using the same images over and over.
• You're launching something new.
• Your business has evolved.
• You want more variety for social media.
• You simply want current images that reflect this season of your business.
Fresh content doesn't have to mean starting over. Sometimes it simply means adding a few new chapters to an already strong story.
A Real Example of a Branding Partnership
One of the reasons I enjoy working with clients over time is that it allows us to continue building on what already works.
Christine's galleries are a great example.
Her Signature Session created a strong foundation and a large library of content. Her spring refresh session added new images, new stories, and fresh marketing material she can continue using throughout the year.
Together, the two sessions tell a richer story than either one could have on its own.
For business owners who want consistent content without needing a full branding session every time, this type of ongoing partnership can be a practical and stress-free way to keep marketing moving forward.
